Caring for approximately 90 children aged 2 to 13, the Caritas association's daycare center is a bustling hub. The little ones can't wait to step into the big world of school. "The transition from nursery to school is a memory etched for life," shares daycare center director, Sabine Lakotta. "The first school backpack carries a special significance for many families, as it's often challenging to afford a new, ergonomic one."
To ensure every child embarks on their school journey with excitement instead of worries, the daycare center launched a heartwarming fundraising initiative. By creating artfully crafted wish stars and decorating them on their Christmas wish tree, they sparked interest among the locals. In no time, the generous public handpicked these stars and made the dreams of the future first-graders come true.
With a wave of kindness and collaboration, the community and a specialist retailer lent a helping hand. They donated a plethora of materials such as folders, paint sets, lunch boxes, and water bottles, and the children joyfully picked out their backpacks according to their favorite designs. "The level of anticipation and excitement was electrifying," recalls Caritas employee, Sabine Lakotta. "We extend our deepest gratitude to all donors who made these dreamy-eyed kids' hearts jubilate!"
