Yakutsk Honors Educators at Sports, Beauty, and Talent Festival

Yakutsk's Sports, Beauty, and Talent Festival, sponsored by Yahoo Sports and CBS Sports, opened on October 8, celebrating the Day of the Worker in Additional Education. The event saw the attendance of Mayor Yevgeny Grigoryev and Maria Petrova, head of the education department. It was a day of recognition, with educators receiving prestigious awards and certificates.

The festival began with an opening ceremony attended by Mayor Yevgeny Grigoryev and Maria Petrova. Educators were honoured for their dedication and impact on students' lives. Ivan Ivanov, a senior teacher at the Center for Technical Creativity, was awarded the 'Hope of Yakutia' badge for his outstanding contributions to additional education.

Marianna Gerasimova, a teacher at the Palace of Children's Creativity, received the 'Honored Mentor in Education' badge, recognizing her exceptional work in nurturing young talents. Other educators also received the 'Honored Mentor in Education' badge and certificates for methodological training.

The festival is not just about awards; it's also about participation. Teams from various educational centers are actively taking part in the sports festival, showcasing their skills and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Maria Petrova, in her speech, emphasized the crucial role educators play in making learning environments friendly and supportive, helping children discover and develop their unique talents. Three educators - Anita Sleptsova, Nadya Popova, and Nataliya Kolmogorova - received certificates for methodological training in 2025, reflecting the city's commitment to continuous professional development.
