Work on reinstating Breitfurt Primary School commences
Breitfurt Elementary School is set to undergo a significant transformation, with the commencement of a comprehensive renovation of its toilet and sanitation facilities scheduled for April 2024. The estimated cost of this project is approximately $350,000, equivalent to around 150,000 euros.
Guido Freidinger, the city councilor responsible for the elementary schools, expressed his delight at the approval of the necessary funds for this project. The renovation works will encompass all floors of the building, and will include the replacement of the cast iron wastewater pipes.
This extensive renovation is a marked departure from the cosmetic improvements that have been the extent of the school's refurbishments so far. In contrast, the toilet facilities at Blickweiler School were renewed last year, indicating a focus on maintaining high standards of hygiene and comfort in local schools.
Previous years have seen extensive renovation work on school buildings in Blieskastel am Schlossberg and Lautzkirchen. However, no new schools or locations are mentioned in relation to this specific project.
The renovation works can only be carried out during the school holidays to minimise disruption to the students' education.
