In a momentous occasion on Monday, May 5, 2025, Governor Vitally Hozenko, in person, introduced the staff and students of Omsk State University named after Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky to their new boss - the acting rector, Ivan Krott.
The big boss of the region candidly acknowledged that Ivan Krott is an experienced manager, adept at tackling complex challenges and working seamlessly as a team. With over two decades under his belt, Ivan has honed his skills in Omsk State Pedagogical University, climbing the ranks from a doctoral candidate to rector. He dabbled in both teaching and research during his tenure.
As reported by the press department of the governor and the Omsk regional government, Vitally Hozenko wished the faculty of OmskGU, under Ivan Krott's leadership, to strengthen its status as a leading center for producing talents for the region's innovative development and expand its research and development activities.
Taking over the reins at OmskGU, Ivan Krott steps into the shoes of former rector Sergei Zamyatin, whose resignation was announced on April 28. The latter had been leading the university since December 2021, initially in an acting capacity and later made the permanent rector a year later.
