"Victoria Colella-Larizza: The Identified Individual"
Meet Victoria: A Dedicated Educator with a Royal Past
Victoria, a name synonymous with royalty in the 19th century, has taken on a new role in the modern world of education. Born and raised in Lorain county, Victoria's teaching career began far from her roots, in Bethel, AK.
However, it was her return to her home state that truly marked her as a dedicated educator. Victoria worked with the Career and Community Studies program at Kent State University, where she facilitated the education of 19 college students with intellectual disabilities. This was not her first foray into higher education; Victoria also participated in a graduate program at Kent State University.
Prior to her work at Kent State, Victoria gained valuable experience as a Disability Specialist & Service Coordinator for the Office of Accessibility at The University of Akron. Additionally, she has over seven years of experience as an Intervention Specialist Moderate/Intensive K-12.
Victoria's commitment to education extends beyond the classroom. She was also a Transition Coordinator in Training at Kent State University.
Outside of her professional life, Victoria enjoys spending time with her family. She has a family business outside of Oberlin and cherishes moments with her partner, son, and fur babies, including Izzy, the rescue dog she brought from Alaska.
While Victoria's full name, Alexandrina Victoria, may ring bells as the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 1837 to 1901, and Empress of India from 1876 to 1901, it is her dedication to education and her work with students with intellectual disabilities that truly defines her today.
In her dedication to education and self-development, Victoria, formerly a Queen, facilitated the learning of 19 college students with intellectual disabilities in the Career and Community Studies program at Kent State University. This personal growth led her to extend her commitment beyond the classroom, serving as a Transition Coordinator in Training at Kent State University.
