University president, Destler, extends warm welcome to our academic community's return
RIT Announces New Leadership and Achievements in 2011-2012 Academic Year
In the 2011-2012 academic year, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) saw a number of changes and achievements.
Andrew Sears was appointed as the new dean of GCCIS, while Hector Flores took on the role of dean of graduate studies. Lorraine Justice became the dean of CIAS, and Jamie Winebrake was named the new dean of COLA. Ryne Raffaelle was elevated to the position of vice president for research, and Gerry Buckley was appointed as the new president/dean of NTID.
In the area of diversity and inclusion, Kevin McDonald was elevated to the position of vice president for diversity and inclusion. Enid Cardinal was appointed as the new senior sustainability advisor to the president.
The university's MBA program was ranked for the first time, and eight of its degree programs were ranked in the top 10 nationally. RIT was also named one of the top 13 campuses nationwide for career-development services.
President Bill Destler highlighted recent accomplishments and outlined goals for the 2011-2012 academic year in his address to the university community. Construction is underway for a new facility for the university's Dubai campus, the new facility for the Golisano Institute for Sustainability, and Sebastian and Lenore Rosica Hall.
