Universities partner with GCash to deliver finance education to students via seminars
The Philippines' leading finance super app, GCash, has partnered with ten universities to launch a series of financial literacy bootcamps aimed at equipping students with the knowledge and tools for long-term saving and investing habits.
The program, titled "The GMindset: Gear Up Your Financial Game," will cover practical lessons on financial goal-setting, savings, investment psychology, and trading strategies. Seven universities have already confirmed their participation: Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Far Eastern University, Adamson University, University of the Philippines (Diliman and Clark), Ateneo de Manila University, and Centro Escolar University, Manila. Three more schools are expected to join in the coming months, including San Beda University, University of Makati, and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.
The first two bootcamps were held at Polytechnic University of the Philippines and Far Eastern University, drawing close to five hundred students each. Each bootcamp leg is anticipated to offer workshops, mentorship, and access to GCash's suite of financial services that promote inclusion and empowerment for the youth sector.
GCash offers on-site GCash Visa Card printing, a dedicated career opportunities booth, and personalized assistance for GSave and GInvest registration during the bootcamps. GSave allows users to open a savings account with partner banks within the app, while GInvest serves as GCash's one-stop shop for personal investment products.
Arjun Varma, GCash general manager for wealth management, stated that this initiative aligns with GCash's mission of fostering a culture of financial inclusion for all, by empowering young people to build positive habits early. John Garcia, head of customer success for wealth management at GCash, expressed that many young Filipinos are eager to learn about money management but often lack access to the right platforms and guidance.
Tracy Nicole Dulay, a Business Administration major at Far Eastern University, shared that she learned the importance of saving money as a student from the program. By reaching the next generation of Filipinos early and making financial education both practical and engaging, GCash continues to advance its vision of Finance for All.
The series will continue to expand with more schools and dates to be announced soon. For more information about GCash and its financial services, visit gcash.com.
