Twenty-three novice workers commence their customs endeavors at the primary customs office in Schweinfurt.
The Main Customs Office Schweinfurt recently welcomed 23 new recruits into the civil service on September 2, 2025. These young individuals have embarked on a journey towards a secure future in a large federal administration, as part of the customs service.
In principle, customs takes on all suitable trainees, offering high-quality training or studies and a variety of exciting tasks. The theoretical training in the middle service takes place at the customs' own training centre in Erfurt, while the higher service trainees complete their theoretical parts at the Federal Administration Academy in Münster.
During their practical phases, the trainees will spend time in various departments of the training customs office and at nearby customs offices, gaining hands-on experience in a wide range of customs-related tasks. This can include casework, special units, tax control, and customs investigation.
The new recruits are undergoing training: 17 in the middle service for a duration of two years, and 6 in the higher service for three years. Upon completion, the trainees can expect to be assigned to various tasks within customs. The middle service training qualifies for the professional title of "financial administrator".
For those pursuing the higher service, the dual study program concludes with the academic degree "Bachelor of Laws". The search results do not provide the name of the head of the Generalzolldirektorat to which interested applicants for the dual study program in administrative informatics can apply.
Interested parties can apply for the middle and higher customs service at the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt, or for the dual study of administrative informatics at the General Customs Directorate. Applications for an entry date of September 1, 2026, are still being accepted until October 15, 2025.
