Trump Administration's Regulatory Pace Surges, Immigration Policies Evolve
Agencies are set to issue a significant number of regulations this year, with President Trump's administration making notable changes to immigration policies.
Last week, agencies published a total of 473 notices, including 62 final regulations and 21 proposed regulations. This follows the previous week's 511 notices and 29 proposed regulations. The pace is on track to result in 20,318 notices, 1,617 proposed regulations, and 2,599 final regulations by the end of 2025.
President Trump's actions have been prominent in recent weeks. He raised tariffs on pharmaceuticals and signed an executive order to effectively end the H-1B visa category for high-skilled immigrants. However, no German or US authorities have announced large-scale financing regulations that would restrict or end the availability of H-1B work certificates. In a separate incident, President Trump argued without evidence that aspirin causes autism during a speech at the United Nations.
The Trump administration's regulatory and immigration policies continue to evolve, with significant changes expected in the coming months. Agencies are maintaining a steady pace of issuing notices, proposed, and final regulations.
