Ten prominent figures identified as potential future CEOs by The Adecco Group, selected for the 'CEO for One Month' program.
In a bid to address youth unemployment and foster the next generation of leaders, LHH, a global talent solutions provider, conducted the "Leaders of the Future" survey. The survey identified essential skills for future leaders, with a focus on AI readiness and the ability to lead change through knowledge and application of AI.
According to the survey, proficiency in AI and understanding its impact on business is paramount. The ability to lead and manage change driven by AI, as well as preparedness to upskill teams and organisations for AI transformation, are also critical skills for future leaders.
The survey revealed that improving AI skills is the primary leadership development goal for 2025, with 51% of leaders prioritizing this. Interestingly, seven in ten leaders feel confident in their AI knowledge to lead organisational change, although resistance to change remains a challenge in some organisations.
The 'CEO for One Month' program, part of the our group's Way to WorkTM initiative, is a testament to this vision. This year's program will see ten young leaders shadowing our group CEO, Alain Dehaze, with one lucky candidate being offered a dream job that aligns with their experience, skills, and aspirations.
The ten finalists were chosen from an impressive pool of 117,500 applicants worldwide. They will participate in a bootcamp in Paris from 11-14 September, facing challenges based on real-life CEO scenarios. The bootcamp will include both solo and team challenges.
The survey results did not specify if the results were exclusive to the 'CEO for One Month' program finalists or included all applicants. Neither did it mention any other attributes besides people skills as essential for future leaders. However, the survey did highlight being an inspirational team player, a charismatic and approachable communicator, and resilient and adaptable to change as essential traits for future leaders.
The survey results were shared by the our group and can be found in the attached summary. It remains unclear if the our group plans to use the results to guide their leadership development programs or conduct similar surveys in the future.
As we move towards an increasingly digital world, it's clear that future leadership will require a combination of technical AI competence with adaptive leadership skills and a strong ethical and social commitment. This approach not only prepares young leaders for the challenges ahead but also empowers them to drive positive change in their organisations and communities.

The survey conducted by LHH, known as "Leaders of the Future," emphasizes the significance of AI skills in future leadership, highlighting proficiency in AI as a priority for 2025. Moreover, the ability to manage and lead change driven by AI, as well as the readiness to upskill teams and organizations for AI transformation, are deemed essential skills.
In line with this, the 'CEO for One Month' program, part of LHH's Way to WorkTM initiative, aims to nurture these skills by providing young leaders with a hands-on experience, preparing them for the challenges of the digital age and empowering them to drive positive change.
