Holy Cross Students Dine with President Rougeau and Dr. Kornegay-Rougeau
In an intimate gathering, students from the Class of 2026 and 2027 had the opportunity to dine with President Vincent Rougeau and his wife, Dr. Robin Kornegay-Rougeau, at their residence. The dinner took place on April 3 and April 22, 2024, during Family Weekend and President Rougeau's inauguration.
The event, which was not catered by Hogan Catering, was held at President Rougeau's house and offered hors d'oeuvres. Julianne Hawley '27 shared her enjoyment of the dinner, appreciating the chance to share her opinions about the Rotman's property.
President Rougeau, who was recently honored with a Leadership Award at a Manhattan ceremony on Nov. 6, and Dr. Kornegay-Rougeau, welcomed a small group of students to their home for dinner. Around twenty students attended the event, which provided an opportunity for students to engage with each other and the Rougeaus in an informal setting.
Topics of discussion ranged from study abroad, hometowns, teams they are involved in, campus life, summer jobs, and ideas about the Rotman's property. After dessert, President Rougeau and Dr. Kornegay-Rougeau switched tables to speak with all students on a smaller scale.
President Rougeau expressed his excitement about the future of the campus, stating his intentions to expand down the hill with more space and opportunities. The Archdiocese of New York also honoured President Rougeau at the Annual Venerable Pierre Toussaint Awards Dinner.
Despite the dinner not being mentioned in "President's Hour," it offered a unique opportunity for students to engage with their university's leadership in a more personal setting, fostering a sense of community and connection.
