Seeking budding wordsmiths among the youth.
The Eutiner Festival of Travelling Words is set to take place at the Eutiner Landesbibliothek from July 18th to 20th, attracting writing groups from North Germany and Austria. This three-day event aims to celebrate language and its potential for creating wonderful word structures.
One of the highlights of the festival is a writing workshop for individuals aged 16 and above with author Yvonne Hergane from Hamburg. Known as "Die Chamaeleon-Damen," Yvonne Hergane is a renowned figure in the literary world. The workshop will provide a unique opportunity for participants to engage in writing, read their texts and poems under the open sky, and exchange ideas. For the younger audience, Nadia Budde, a children's book author and a rhyme expert, will conduct a rhyme workshop for children aged 8 and above on July 19th. The workshop, which takes place from 10 am to 3 pm, promises to be a fun and educational experience. A child must be at least 6 years old to participate in the Colorful Rhyme Workshop with Nadia Budde at the Festival of Traveling Words in Eutin on July 19.
In addition to these workshops, the Eutiner Festival of Travelling Words continues to offer additional workshops beyond those already mentioned. On July 19th, Selina Seemann, a poetry slammer from Kiel, will conduct a workshop for young people aged 14 and above. The workshop for young poetry slammers takes place from 11 am to 5 pm.
The festival's organiser, Esther Dörrhofer, a media and library educator, has put together an exciting programme aimed at fostering creativity and encouraging the love of language. The finished works from all workshops will be presented to the audience on the castle lawn, providing a fitting conclusion to the festival.
