Schools Instructed to Integrate Daily Optimistic Statements in Morning Gatherings by CBSE
Sparking Positivity in the Classroom: CBSE's New Initiative
Starting from the academic year 2025-2026, CBSE schools are mandated to incorporate positive affirmations into their daily morning assembly routines. This move aims to nurture the all-round development of students, fostering clarity, tranquility, and confidence in their behavior. Positive affirmations are brief, powerful statements intended to cultivate a constructive self-image, emotional resilience, and an optimistic outlook.
The CBSE urges schools to select age-appropriate, inclusive, and values-based affirmations, focusing on empathy, courage, and self-worth. Schools are encouraged to tailor affirmations to align with their core values.
The primary objectives of this initiative are:
- Advancing the socio-emotional growth of students
- Instilling a respectful and positive school culture
- Encouraging self-reflection and emotional regulation
- Empowering students to commence their day with clarity, poise, and self-assurance
Although CBSE has not yet published a comprehensive list of affirmations for the 2025-2026 academic session, they do suggest several options for morning assemblies:
- "I am a happy soul."
- "I face each challenge with courage."
- "My memory is like a sponge, absorbing knowledge."
- "My body is a temple, nourished by healthy food."
- "I use technology wisely, primarily for learning."
- "I treat everyone with respect and kindness."
CBSE encourages schools to assess the impact of these affirmations on students' emotional well-being and shares their insights, feedback, and best practices with the board for further program modification.
In the absence of school-specific affirmations, institutions may adopt general positive affirmations such as "A positive attitude leads to positive outcomes" or "Embrace your talents and strive for greatness." These empowering statements encourage students to cultivate a growth mindset and motivate them to engage in activities that foster personal development and community service.

- To reinforce the impact of affirmations on students' emotional well-being, the CBSE encourages schools to share their insights, feedback, and best practices, allowing for further program modification.
- As schools customise their affirmations to align with their core values in the education-and-self-development sector, the six proposed affirmations by CBSE focus on empathy, courage, knowledge absorption, self-care, responsible technology usage, and kindness.
- Apart from school-specific affirmations, general positive affirmations like "A positive attitude leads to positive outcomes" and "Embrace your talents and strive for greatness" can serve as a powerful starting point for promoting personal-growth, resilience, and a growth mindset.
