School has released its schedule for upcoming vacations

The Education Committee of the administration of Chita has recently announced the school holiday dates for the upcoming academic year, providing much-anticipated information for students and parents.

According to the announcement made by Geser Radnaev, press secretary of the Education Committee, classes for first-grade students will resume after the autumn holidays on November 5, 2025. The autumn holidays will take place from October 27 to November 2, lasting for 7 days.

In addition to the standard school holidays, first-grade students in Chita will also enjoy additional breaks known as "каникулы" (kanikuly). These extra holidays are designed to help younger children rest more and will take place from February 16 to February 22, 2026.

The winter holidays will commence from December 29, 2025, and will last for an extended period of 14 days, ending on January 11, 2026. Classes will resume after the winter holidays on January 12, 2026.

The spring holidays will take place from March 23 to March 29, 2026, and will last for 7 days, as is customary in Russia. Classes for first-grade students will resume after the spring holidays on March 30, 2026.

It is important to note that while the Russian school calendar typically includes winter, spring, and summer holidays, as well as additional days off on public holidays, the exact dates can vary by region and school. In Chita, schools usually follow the regional education department’s calendar, which might adjust holidays slightly.

For precise dates for the 2025-2026 academic year, including any additional holidays for first-graders in Chita, the best sources are the official website of the Zabaykalsky Krai Department of Education, the local school’s official calendar or administration, and regional government announcements closer to the school year.

With these holiday dates now confirmed, students and parents can plan their schedules accordingly, ensuring a well-deserved break and a refreshed start to the new term.
