Revealed: Admission Criteria for "Avangard" Pupils at Kuzminka

In the past, parents had been anxious that all the available spots might be filled by kids who were part of the local hockey club, the "Avangard." But according to Olga Stepanova, the Minister of Education for Omsk region, that's a misconception.

On her Telegram channel, she clarified that students from the "Avangard" hockey academy and children of club employees would be accepted based on general selection criteria, with no special preference given due to the hockey club's affiliation with the school.

In conversations, people have been curious about the criteria for admitting students from the "Avangard" hockey academy and club employees' children. Olga explains that students from local areas are admitted to general classes first. For pre-profile classes, any student interested in intensive engineering studies can go through a selection process. A commission makes the final decision based on entrance exam results.

Regarding the hockey club's role as a partner, Olga shared that they will help the school bring in skilled engineering and technical teachers from across the country, and that the school will soon be getting additional modern equipment with their support to boost engineering education.

Reports earlier suggested concerns about possible fictitious registrations for admission to the Omsk school, but specific details aren't publicly available. For a comprehensive understanding of the admissions criteria, it is recommended to contact the Omsk school or the relevant educational authorities directly.

Typically, when it comes to accepting students from sports academies like "Avangard" or children of employees, criteria might include good academic performance, demonstrating hockey excellence for academy students, proof of employment for employees' children, recommendations from authorities or coaches, and potential financial aid for eligible students.

  1. Disregarding the hockey club's partnership, Olga Stepanova has confirmed that students from the "Avangard" hockey academy and children of club employees will be admitted based on general selection criteria, with priority given to local students in regular classes and pre-profile engineering classes requiring a selection process.
  2. In addition to the school's partnership with the "Avangard" hockey club, Olga also announced that focus on education-and-self-development will not be neglected, with skilled engineering and technical teachers being brought in from across the country, and modern equipment being provided to boost the school's engineering education, despite any lingering concerns about potential fictitious registrations.
