Breidert Elementary School in Rödermark Undergoes Comprehensive Modernization

The Breidert Elementary School in Rödermark is undergoing a significant transformation, aimed at creating a contemporary and future-oriented educational environment. Landrat Oliver Quilling, Kreisbeigeordneter Alexander Bohn, and architect Christian Nasedy recently attended the topping-out ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the project.

The modernization project includes the construction of a new school complex, consisting of two main buildings arranged around an outdoor space. This design fosters a sense of community and offers a pleasant environment for students. The interior of the school will be bright and colorful, creating an inviting and stimulating atmosphere conducive to learning.

Modern educational facilities are being installed, with classrooms and specialized rooms being outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment and furnishings to support diverse teaching methods and activities. The school complex will also feature thoughtfully planned play and recreational spaces both indoors and outdoors, ensuring that students have ample opportunities for physical activity and relaxation.

Emphasis has been placed on ecological sustainability, with energy-efficient building materials and systems integrated into the design. The school will incorporate flexible learning spaces that can be adapted for different types of instruction and collaborative work. The entire complex is being designed to be accessible to all students, including those with disabilities.

New rooms are being created for the "We are Breidert!" initiative, offering better opportunities for meetings and events in the future. The originally planned municipal participation in school childcare has been reduced from 4.5 million euros to around three million euros.

School principal Stefan Wesselmann follows the presentation with great interest, as the modernization project continues to progress. The first phase of construction has reached the topping-out stage, with visitors and those responsible expressing positive feedback about the new architecture. After the first phase is completed, the old building will be demolished to make way for the second construction phase.

The increasing number of students at Breidert Elementary School will be accommodated, with the capacity being increased by about a third. The new school will accommodate up to 300 children and will also provide sports facilities for local clubs. The school community is praised for their patience and tolerance during the construction process, allowing for the avoidance of a temporary relocation.

Rödermark is creating a modern and forward-looking educational location with this investment. The school modernization project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027, with the first new section of the school expected to be ready for students at the beginning of 2026. This investment in the Breidert Elementary School is part of Rödermark's commitment to providing a high-quality educational environment for its students.

The school modernization project also includes the establishment of additional resources for other education-and-self-development initiatives, such as the "We are Breidert!" program, which will benefit from improved facilities for meetings and events. The new school complex will not only provide cutting-edge educational spaces but also foster holistic development for the students, supporting their growth beyond academics.
