Region's Training Market in 2022 Gains Favor with Employment Agency's Perspective

In the North Black Forest region, the employment landscape for vocational training has seen a significant shift. According to the Agentur für Arbeit Nagold-Pforzheim, the number of training positions reported has increased by 11.9 percent compared to the previous year, amounting to 865 positions as of September 30, 2023.

Martina Lehmann, Managing Director of the Agentur für Arbeit Nagold-Pforzheim, expressed her satisfaction with the progress, stating that they have successfully countered the demographic trend and managed to convince more young people of the attractiveness and excellent career opportunities in dual training in the North Black Forest region.

The employer service of Agentur für Arbeit Nagold-Pforzheim received a total of 4,346 training positions from October 2022 to September 2023. Among these, industrial clerks (189 positions) and hotel professionals (132 positions) were among the top reported training positions, while salespersons, both retail and in the service sector, took the lead with 253 and 214 positions, respectively.

However, despite the increase in training positions, there are still 41 young people without a training position. Many companies in the region are still on the lookout for new talent, despite the already started training year.

The reasons for the persisting vacancies include lack of mobility, not meeting the requirements of the companies, and lack of flexibility in career wishes. Lehmann appeals to companies to give a chance to those young people who may not seem like the ideal candidates at first glance.

The Agentur für Arbeit offers a wide range of services to support young people in their career entry or during their vocational training, such as assisted training, vocational preparation measures, or initial qualification. Lehmann encourages anyone still looking for a training position and needing professional support to contact the career guidance service.
