Proposing a Skills Training Centre in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to Attract IT Firms by CMIA
The Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) is actively working to attract Information Technology (IT) companies to Auric City, a part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor. In a bid to boost the region's IT sector, CMIA has proposed the reservation of 100 acres of land at Bidkin-AURIC for an IT park tailored for IT companies [1][2].
In addition, a proposal has been submitted to the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to establish a fully equipped skill development centre aimed at training and supplying skilled professionals to the IT sector investing in Auric City [1][3]. The centre will play a crucial role in ensuring the workforce readiness required for the growth of the IT industry in the region.
CMIA has also gathered insights from 67 local IT companies to understand their needs and build a strong IT ecosystem. A detailed report outlining these insights and requests supporting IT industry growth will be submitted to the central government [2]. Furthermore, CMIA is launching forums such as the Marathwada Exports Forum (MEF) to boost the region's industrial and export potential, thereby enhancing Auric City's overall attractiveness to IT firms [1].
The MEF is aimed at ensuring global market access for products manufactured in the region. The coordinated efforts by CMIA emphasize infrastructure development, workforce readiness, and stakeholder engagement, positioning Auric City as a competitive Tier-2 IT hub within India [2][3].
Meanwhile, Auric City continues to attract investments from major multinationals like Toyota and JSW, solidifying its position as an industrial powerhouse. However, the current situation in Pune, which is affected by heavy rains, has caused flight delays, waterlogged roads, and slow traffic, which may potentially impact the region's industrial growth.
