Participate in the San Sebastián Film Festival through a discussion on film distribution at our Instituto
The Proyecto Haz, an initiative funded by the European Union with the Next Generation EU Funds, is offering 100% online courses for professionals and those interested in the audiovisual sector. These courses, which cover specializations in image, sound, artificial intelligence, audiovisual business, production, and media, are part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan of the Spanish Government.
The training offered by Proyecto Haz is practical, tutored, and focused on employability. Students pay a deposit in advance, which is fully refunded upon completion of the course. The courses are certified by the Instituto and backed by the Ministry of Culture and the ICAA.
As part of the San Sebastián International Film Festival, the Proyecto Haz is organising the roundtable discussion 'Distributing Film: Challenges and New Strategies'. This event will take place on Tuesday, September 23 at 10:30 AM in Sala Z at Tabakalera. The discussion will focus on key issues for the present and future of film distribution.
The session will last approximately one hour and is open to all until capacity is reached. The debate will be moderated by journalist and presenter Desireé Ndjambo. Participants in the roundtable include María Zamora, Thomas Tuma, Andrea Legarreta, Eduardo Escudero (a partner and director of business at the independent distributor A Contracorriente Films), and Elena Neira, a university professor and expert in new models of audiovisual distribution.
Topics to be analysed include the current state of the sector in Spain, innovations that have transformed the traditional model, the impact of digital distribution, strategies to attract young audiences to cinemas, mechanisms to protect local productions from the dominance of American majors, the role of festivals as a springboard for generating visibility and interest, and the influence of new technological trends and artificial intelligence on the audiovisual industry.
