Park University Appoints Jayme Uden as Chief Human Resources Officer
Jayme Uden, a seasoned higher education professional with a rich background in student life and administration, has been appointed as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Park University, effective March 18, 2024.
Uden's career in higher education spans over two decades, with a focus on academic administration and student affairs. He began his journey at the University of Kansas, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and later his Doctor of Education degree in higher education. He also holds a Master of Education degree in higher education from Iowa State University.
Uden's extensive experience in student life includes serving as a residence life coordinator at Kansas State University from 2003 to 2006, and as an assistant director for residence life at the University of Kansas from 2006 to 2011. At Park University, he has held various positions in the student life department, including dean of students, associate dean of students, and assistant dean of student life.
Uden's contributions to Park University extend beyond student life. Prior to his new role, he served as the associate vice president and dean of students at the university since December 2016. He has also been a member of the Northland (Kansas City, Mo.) Regional Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Northland class of 2013-14.
In his new role, Uden will oversee human resources strategies, including talent management, employee relations, training and development, performance improvement, compensation and benefits, organisational development, HR information systems, and regulatory compliance. He will also serve as the University's Title IX officer, ensuring compliance with the federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in educational programmes and activities.
Uden's appointment comes as Park University seeks to foster employee engagement across its network.
