Over 80 Afghan Students Launch New Academic Journeys in Fall 2022

Over 80 Afghan students are embarking on new academic journeys this fall, thanks to the Qatar Scholarship for Afghans Project (QSAP). This initiative, supported by the Afghan Future Fund (AFF), Education Above All Foundation (EAA), Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), and other partners, has been a lifeline for Afghan youth seeking stability, education, and purpose since 2021.

The fall cohort comprises 70 students, placed at more than 25 universities across six countries. They are pursuing majors like cybersecurity, law, and business administration. Among them is Hekmatullah Ashraf, studying Business Administration and Finance at Binghamton University, aiming to help rebuild Afghanistan's economy. Mohammad Hatif Nadiri, a Master's student in Accounting at Clark University, aspires to become a knowledgeable accountant serving clients and communities. Rabieullah Naseri and Torpekai Ahmadi, both at the University of Tulsa, are delving into IT and Cybersecurity, with plans to launch a cybersecurity firm and protect digital systems respectively. Fawzia Mohammadi, an LL.M. student at Penn State Dickinson Law, seeks to build fair and effective legal systems. Since its inception, QSAP has helped 400 Afghan students pursue higher education across Europe and North America.

QSAP, supported by the Afghan Future Fund (AFF), Education Above All Foundation (EAA), Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), and other partners, continues to empower Afghan youth. The scholars, becoming global citizens and future leaders, publish articles about their studies and personal developments on the project's website, co-led and financed by EAA and QFFD.
