Local Kids Learn Fire Safety in Schwitten & Menden, Public Invited to Upcoming Events

Local children in Schwitten and Menden recently had an educational and exciting experience as they learned about fire safety and emergency procedures from their local fire departments. The Menden Fire Department and Schwitten Volunteer Fire Brigade also invite the public to their upcoming events to learn more about their vital work.

On April 10th and 11th, the Menden Fire Department and Schwitten Volunteer Fire Brigade conducted fire safety education at a local kindergarten and elementary school. Kindergarten children visited the fire station in Schwitten and learned about emergency situations, safe behavior in case of fire, and practiced making an emergency call. Meanwhile, 4th grade students from the elementary school visited the fire and rescue station in Menden to put their knowledge into practice and learn about the vehicles, equipment, and accommodation of the professional forces. Both groups of children were trained on proper handling of fire, recognizing an emergency, behavior in case of fire, and making an emergency call.

The fire safety education was a resounding success, with many children expressing interest in joining the fire department later on. The children had an educational and exciting experience, learning valuable skills that could save lives in the future.

The Menden Fire Department and Schwitten Volunteer Fire Brigade invite the public to learn more about their work at the 'Dance into May' event on April 30th and the 'May breakfast' on May 1st. While the name of the head of the volunteer fire brigade in Menden is not provided, they will be present at both events to share their knowledge and experiences with the community.
