Lithuania to Educate its Citizens on Drones Operation
Lithuania, a Baltic EU and NATO member country with a population of 2.8 million, is embarking on an ambitious national program to integrate drone technology into both its defense strategies and public education system. The initiative, a joint effort between the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Education, aims to train over 22,000 individuals, including 7,000 children, in drone technology by 2028.
Educating the Next Generation
The curriculum is designed to be age-appropriate, with younger students engaging in interactive games and older participants delving into advanced topics like 3D design and FPV drone assembly. The program includes establishing drone training centers across the country, with the first three centers opening in Jonava, Tauragė, and Kėdainiai. Plans are in place to expand this network to nine centers in the future.
