Nationwide initiative 'People's Lawyer' launched: Offering free legal consultations and responses to queries from government bodies in all major cities and towns on May 30, 2025, as disclosed by our site.

Emphasis on "Rule of Law" Advocacy Across Kazakhstan

In an effort to strengthen the legal culture, instill trust in state institutions, and discourage law violations and corruption, the government has initiated a countrywide "People's Lawyer" campaign. This campaign aims to provide legal consultations to citizens.

Noteworthy organizations supporting this initiative include Kazakhstan's Anti-Corruption Agency, the Ministry of Justice, various state authorities, top lawyers, and renowned legal professionals. The "Paragraph" information system, Prosud.kz, the Republican College of Advocates, and our website are also involved.

Citizens can seek advice from representatives of numerous state institutions, such as the State Revenue Committee, Financial Monitoring Agency, Anti-Corruption Agency, General Prosecutor's Office, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Defense, local administration offices (akimats), police, court bailiffs, and highly regarded Kazakhstani lawyers, notaries, and mediators.

Public consultation locations are available in major cities like Astana and Almaty. In Astana, citizens can find specialists at the Al-Farabi Schoolchildren's Palace (Momyshuly Street, 5), while in Almaty, consultations are offered at Caspian University (Dostyk Avenue, 85a). These services are provided free of charge.

More extensive lists of consultation times and locations in each region of Kazakhstan can be found online. The development of civil society, legal aid provision, and legal literacy among Kazakhs are some of the anticipated benefits of this campaign.

It is essential to note that Kazakhstan's legal system encounters issues with judicial independence and corruption, with the judiciary often influenced by the executive branch[1]. Human rights activists and political dissidents have faced legal challenges, underscoring the relevance of independent legal support. Given this context, the "People's Lawyer" campaign may play a significant role in providing accessible legal assistance and fostering legal literacy among the population.

I, as a concerned citizen, might find it beneficial to consult with the "People's Lawyer" campaign for finance-related business matters, ensuring I am aware of my rights and responsibilities within Kazakhstan's legal framework. In light of the issues with judicial independence and corruption, education-and-self-development through legal literacy could be critical for making informed decisions about my personal and business finance.
