Lichtenfels Training Lion Celebrates 10th Anniversary with New Sculptures Designed by Local Students

The Lichtenfels Training Lion, a symbol of excellence in training, is prominently displayed in the company's rooms, according to Landrat Christian Meißner. This award, now celebrating its 10th anniversary, honours exceptional quantitative and/or qualitative training achievements.

For the occasion, new sculptures of the Lichtenfels Training Lion have been designed by students of the Lichtenfels vocational school. The students were tasked with combining the possibilities of 3D printing and weaving in their creations, allowing for a unique blend of traditional and modern techniques.

The Lichtenfels Training Lion award has become a significant marketing argument for the companies involved in training. State Secretary Tobias Gotthardt, who has agreed to take over the patronage for the 10th anniversary, praised the companies in the Lichtenfels district for their commitment, creativity, and conviction in accompanying and promoting young people.

The award evaluates the company as a whole with its training performance, while also taking the size of the company into account. Applications for the Lichtenfels Training Lion award are open until mid-September 2025.

Since the competition began in 2009, 38 Training Lions have been awarded as sculptures by various artists. The Lichtenfels Training Lion award continues to gain significance, as demonstrated by the patronage taken over by State Secretary Tobias Gotthardt.

The Lichtenfels Training Lion award is a public thank you to training companies that actively care for the training of their young talent. The award is sponsored by the Lichtenfels district and supporters. The statement from Tobias Gotthardt emphasizes the importance placed on the Lichtenfels Training Lion award by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs.

The history and significance of the Lichtenfels Training Lion award, as well as details about the students contributing new sculptures for its 10th anniversary, can be found in official publications or announcements from the Lichtenfels educational or training institutions that grant the award, local news outlets or cultural organizations involved with the anniversary celebrations, and specific event or institutional websites documenting the student sculpture contributions for the 10th anniversary.
