Kindergarten Facilities Unveiled in Almaty for Young Residents
In an effort to provide comprehensive preschool education for children up to six years old, Almaty, Kazakhstan is taking significant steps to expand its early childhood education infrastructure.
As of now, there are 824 preschool organisations in Almaty, with a capacity for 65,080 children. These include 189 state kindergartens, 399 private kindergartens, and 236 mini-centres.
To address the shortage of places, over the past three years, 380 private preschool organisations with 9,368 places have been opened in the city. Additionally, 10 state kindergartens with 1,950 places have been built.
The Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has instructed that preschool education coverage for children up to six years old should reach 100% by 2025. To achieve this goal, a complex of measures is being implemented.
One such measure is the use of an electronic referral system, balabaqsha.open-almaty.kz, for obtaining a referral to a state kindergarten. Since 2020, the process of registration and issuance of referrals to sanatorium and corrective preschool organisations has been automated.
Moreover, it is planned to develop an electronic menu and an automated system for monitoring the skills and abilities of children by 2021. This system will help in tracking the progress of children and ensuring they receive the best possible education.
Conditions are also being created for the opening of private preschool institutions in Almaty. For instance, the building of the "Skazka" kindergarten in the Auezov district has been returned from rent, and a 14-group state kindergarten with 320 places is planned to open in 2021.
In addition, 31 private preschool organisations with 1,751 places operate within the framework of public-private partnership in the city. This collaboration aims to supplement state efforts in expanding preschool education.
To find more detailed information about these measures and the progress being made in Almaty, you can explore several approaches. Visit the official Almaty city government or Department of Education websites for updates on early childhood education initiatives, construction projects for new kindergartens, and information about systems like balabaqsha.open-almaty.kz.
You can also access and review the balabaqsha.open-almaty.kz platform directly to gain insight into how the referral process works and how it supports achieving universal preschool coverage.
Local news outlets and government announcements are another source of information, often reporting progress on educational infrastructure and programs aimed at increasing preschool accessibility in Almaty.
By taking a combined approach to gather information, you can find the specific measures being implemented, including kindergarten construction, public-private collaboration, and digital referral tools, aimed at reaching full preschool coverage by 2025.
