Kazakhstan's students triumphantly bagged the top honors at the International Physics Olympiad, held in Russia.

The International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) 2025 concluded in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, with the Kazakhstan team emerging as the overall winners. The team, comprised of five high school students, bagged a total of ten awards, including individual medals for several students.

Roman Cherechnov, a student of "Mirass" school in Almaty, and Taiyr Abdikadyrov, a student of Kostanai "Bilim-innovation" lyceum, both won Silver medals in the individual standings. Daniel Tyulyubayev and Altayr Akankov, students of Nurorda school-lyceum in Astana and the Republican Physics and Mathematics School (RPMS) in Astana respectively, claimed Bronze medals.

The competition was divided into two main rounds - theoretical and experimental. Roman Cherechnov and Ilyas Kazymbek, another student of RPMS in Almaty, were awarded I-degree diplomas in the theoretical round, along with Daniel Tyulyubayev, Taiyr Abdikadyrov, and Altayr Akankov who received II-degree diplomas.

The final result was determined by the sum of points earned by participants in both stages. Nazaraali Aitjanov, a master's student at CDU, was part of the Kazakhstan team's leadership. Samat Maksutov, PhD, associate professor at CDU, led the team.

While detailed information about the individual medal winners and their achievements at the IPhO 2025 is limited as of July 9, 2025, it's worth noting that regional physics competitions, such as the Balkan Physics Olympiad 2025, have seen impressive performances from students. For instance, Romanian students won three gold medals and one silver medal at the Balkan Physics Olympiad 2025.

Once the official IPhO 2025 results are published and made public, we will update this report with more detailed information about the individual achievements of the Kazakhstan team members.
