The district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen is set to launch the "Prevention Chains" project, an initiative aimed at enhancing participation opportunities for children aged 0-10. Monika Simshauser, the network coordinator of this project, and her team are looking forward to a series of information discussions and networking events in all 13 social spaces of the district.

On August 26, 2025, the kick-off event will take place at 6 pm in Bürgerhaus Kaltennordheim. The theme of the event is "Shaping Successful and Opportunistic Growth Across Generations Together". This event is open to all those who work with children aged 0-10, are engaged as volunteers, or plan to become active in the future.

The kick-off event will feature presentations of proven and tested formats such as Early Help, Children's Island, Thuringian Parent-Child Centers (ThEKiZ), ideas for a smooth transition from kindergarten to primary school, volunteer initiatives, and other low-threshold ideas for early childhood health, education, and movement promotion.

Following the information discussions, the "Early Childhood Education, Health, and Movement Promotion" competence team of the district office will support the planned social space activities in the implementation phase.

The "Prevention Chains" project aims to provide local, early, and coordinated offers and concepts for children. By developing, implementing, and interlinking tailored offers and activities in the 13 social spaces of the district, the project aspires to create a comprehensive support network for the well-being and development of young children.

For those interested in attending the kick-off event, registration is requested by August 22, 2025, and can be done via email to [email protected]. For more detailed information about the Schmalkalden-Meiningen Prevention Chains project, current official local government or health department publications or direct contact with the regional social services office would be the best sources.
