New Police Officers Join Baden-Württemberg Forces, Boosting Safety and Strength
In a significant move to reinforce its police force, Baden-Württemberg welcomes 154 new police officers this week. These officers have completed their training in the middle police service and will be officially appointed as police masters. This addition brings the total number of police master's candidates in the country to 1,504 as of September 1, 2025.
The new recruits will find good working conditions and modern equipment, as the state has made a concerted effort to improve police working conditions. These officers will be stationed at police stations and deployment units across the country, including the city of Stuttgart, where 154 additional police trainees were stationed for duty in September 2025.
Baden-Württemberg's recruitment efforts have resulted in a significant turnaround in personnel. Since launching the largest recruitment offensive in its history in 2016, more than 13,000 young people have been won over for training with the state police of Baden-Württemberg. As a result, the state currently has 500 more police officers than in 2016, and by 2026, the Police of Baden-Württemberg will have over 1,000 more fully trained police officers.
The Police of Baden-Württemberg is an attractive and popular employer, with the police profession being seen as a calling by many. Thomas Strobl, the Interior Minister, stated that the police profession is not just any job, but a calling. He officially welcomed the new police officers into their professional lives, expressing his confidence in their ability to serve and protect the people of Baden-Württemberg.
As the state continues to recruit new officers, it will continue to offer numerous training places. The recruitment offensive falls under the categories of Education and Science, Training, Interior, and Police, demonstrating the state's commitment to strengthening its police force.
Baden-Württemberg has been one of the safest states for years, and these new officers will play a crucial role in maintaining this status. The state's continued efforts to improve its police force and recruit new officers demonstrate its dedication to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
