The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Bangladesh has announced a revised schedule for the postponed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations, which were initially delayed due to a tragic incident.

On July 21, a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crashed on the Milestone College campus premises, leading to a national day of mourning on July 22. As a result, the HSC and equivalent exams scheduled for that day were suspended.

Initially, Education Adviser CR Abrar suggested that the postponed exams for July 22 and July 24 would be held on the same day, with the former in the morning and the latter in the afternoon. However, the official revised schedule released later shows that this is not the case.

The exams that were scheduled for July 22 have been rescheduled to August 17, and those planned for July 24 have been postponed to August 19. Both sets of exams will be conducted from 10 am to 1 pm on their respective days, effectively separating the two exam days rather than combining them into one.

The exams scheduled for August 17 include Chemistry (Theory) Second Paper, Islamic History and Culture Second Paper (Humanities Group), History Second Paper, Home Management and Family Life, and Production Management and Marketing Second Paper. The exams set for August 19 include Economics First Paper and Engineering Drawing and Workshop Practice First Paper.

Some individuals have expressed concern about managing logistics, reaching separate venues in time, and the added mental stress of having to sit for two exams on different days. Meanwhile, netizens and examinees have voiced their concerns about the initial suggestion of having to sit for two exams on the same day due to the rescheduling.

At the moment, no new information about the rescheduling of the postponed exams of July 22 and July 24 has been announced yet. The government is yet to provide further details on this matter.

Amidst the discussions about the logistics and mental stress related to the rescheduled HSC examinations, there are ongoing debates on general news platforms about the initial proposal to conduct two exams on the same day. Meanwhile, within the realm of education and self-development, students are grappling with the revised schedule, which includes two separate examination days for the postponed HSC exams.
