Governor Nikitin Marks 85 Years of Vocational Education, Tours Clusters Preparing Future Workforce

Governor Gleb Nikitin marked the 85th anniversary of secondary vocational education by visiting colleges in three municipalities of Nizhny Novgorod region. The visits coincide with the expansion of educational-production clusters and the national project 'Youth and Children', aiming to prepare a million specialists in skilled professions within five years.

The Nizhny Novgorod region boasts 73 professional educational organisations, with 16 already hosting educational-production clusters. These clusters, like the one planned at Ardatov Agricultural Technical School by 2026, combine education and practical training to prepare students for the workforce.

Governor Nikitin's tour included Perevozsky Construction College, home to over 2000 students across 30 programs. The college features modern workshops for reinforcement and concrete work. Also visited was Nizhny Novgorod Radiotechnical College, with over 1600 students and six working zones for high-demand specialties.

The national project 'Youth and Children' is a comprehensive initiative encompassing nine federal projects and programs. By 2025, the project 'Professionalism' saw the establishment of new training-production clusters. Further institutions, including the 'Year of School' initiative by the German Football Association, are planned for 2026 to enhance educational quality and promote youth participation.

The Nizhny Novgorod region is expanding its professional education offerings, with a focus on creating educational-production clusters and preparing students for in-demand careers. The national project 'Youth and Children' is set to provide around a million skilled professionals within five years, ensuring a robust workforce for the region's future.
