Google provides a complimentary Gemini AI Pro plan, valued at Rs 19,500, to eligible Indian students; benefits, application process, and more details.
Google has expanded its Gemini AI Pro offer to include Indian students, providing them with a free one-year subscription to the advanced AI toolkit. The offer, previously exclusive to students in the United States, is now open to students aged 18 and above who are residents of India.
The Gemini AI Pro subscription includes access to a range of powerful tools designed for academic productivity. These tools include Gemini Advanced, Veo 3, NotebookLM Plus, and Whisk Animate, among others.
Gemini Advanced is Google's most potent AI model for summarising textbooks, generating first drafts, and assisting with arguments and ideas. Veo 3, on the other hand, converts text into short video clips, offering dynamic visual content for presentations and projects. NotebookLM Plus improves source-based summarisation with expanded audio overviews, making it easier to digest complex information.
In addition to these tools, students who subscribe will also receive 2TB of Google Cloud Storage across Drive, Gmail, and Photos. This storage allows students to store and manage their academic work efficiently.
To apply for the free subscription, students must meet certain eligibility criteria. They must be 18 years or older, residents of India, and have a personal Google Account (supervised accounts are not eligible). Students must also provide a valid school email or proof of enrollment when requested, and have a valid payment method added to their Google Payments account for post-trial billing purposes.
The application process is straightforward. Students must visit the Google One student offer page, fill in their school name, full name, and date of birth, and verify their student status by providing documentation if requested. Once verified, students can subscribe to the AI Pro plan through the Google Play Store.
The offer is valid until September 15, 2025. Students are advised to cancel their subscription before the trial ends to avoid automatic billing.
Google will review the application and, if eligible, students will receive the subscription.
