Ford, Dealers Invest $2M in Scholarships to Boost Automotive Tech Workforce

Ford Motor Co. and its car dealerships near me are investing $2 million in scholarships for aspiring automotive technicians. The Ford Auto Tech Scholarship fund will grant up to 400 need-based awards of $5,000 each to students enrolled in post-secondary automotive programs in specific metropolitan regions across the U.S. The scholarships are aimed at attracting the next generation of automotive technicians and addressing the industry's labor shortage, which currently faces an annual shortage of 37,000 trained technicians and will need an additional 400,000 by 2027.
