Amidst a whirlwind of rumours and allegations, a children's nursery named Kita Polarstern is set to open its doors in Regensburg's Wohrdstraße by September 1st. However, the road to this opening has not been smooth, with controversies surrounding the takeover of the Kita and the role of a certain employee from the Department for Daycare.

Initially, the reopening of Kita Polarstern was uncertain due to numerous rumours and false claims. One of the rumours involved a luxury Kita and a kind of hostile takeover. Yet, it has been confirmed that the city of Regensburg did not engage in a hostile takeover with the Johanniter.

The then responsible employee at the Department for Daycare, who had the supervisory authority, played a questionable role in this. Reports suggest that the employee demanded that another Kita (Goldschatz) could not take over the Kita in the Wohrdstraße. However, it was later revealed that the employee from the Department for Daycare was not granted state funding for the Kita Polarstern.

Dominik Schomecker, one of the owners of Kita Polarstern, felt "blackmailed" by the aforementioned employee. Contrary to earlier fears, Kita Polarstern will operate at regular fees, capped at the usual maximum rate according to the city's regulations.

A framework agreement between the operator and the city of Regensburg was signed, ensuring the smooth operation of the Kita. The city of Regensburg granted the permit to operate Kita Polarstern, and work is ongoing in the Wohrdstraße premises to prepare for the opening.

It is worth noting that there are still places available at Kita Polarstern. Parents affected by the closure of Inselzwerge and still looking for a place will be prioritized by Kita Polarstern. The Kita will operate with two groups, each with a maximum of 12 children.

Despite the controversies, Schomecker is now in good contact with the city of Regensburg. There was uncertainty about whether the city of Regensburg would grant the new operators a permit to operate. However, the city's support for Kita Polarstern has been evident in the granting of the permit and the signing of the framework agreement.

It is essential to clarify that there is no publicly available verified information or credible news reports confirming that a criminal complaint was filed and subsequently dismissed in connection with the case of the Kita Polarstern takeover. For accurate and up-to-date information, checking local court records, official statements from the parties involved, or reliable local news sources in Regensburg would be necessary.

The employee from the Department for Daycare, who had been questioned for their role in the controversy, did not receive state funding for the Kita Polarstern. Despite the initial uncertainties, education and self-development opportunities will be available at Kita Polarstern, as they work to prioritize families affected by the closure of other Kindergartens.
