Fluent in Kazakh and possessing a Slavic appearance, an English teacher elects to switch gears and teach Kazakh language and literature instead.

In the heart of northern Kazakhstan, a Slavic girl from the Kostanai region has embarked on an extraordinary journey, becoming a teacher of Kazakh language and literature.

Growing up in a multicultural environment, Vika's neighbours were Kazakhs, and they spoke both languages with her while playing. This early exposure to Kazakh helped Vika start speaking the language from the tender age of 5.

Despite attending a Russian school, Vika's interest in the Kazakh language grew. She found Kazakh an interesting language with beautiful words that lost meaning when translated into Russian. This fascination led her to work with a teacher separately and participate in various competitions, olympiads, and scientific works related to the Kazakh language.

Vika's dedication paid off when she won a grant to study at "Turan Astana" university in the specialty "Teacher of Kazakh Language and Literature". Now, she is moving to the capital to start a new chapter in her life.

Vika believes that knowing the state language is crucial for progress in today's world. She advises learning a new language, emphasizing that even with courses and high costs, one cannot learn a new language without interest. Vika is a living testament to this belief, as her passion for Kazakh and English has driven her to dedicate her life to language studies.

Vika expresses the idea that learning a foreign language opens a new path in life. She can understand and participate in conversations in any environment when Kazakh is spoken. She is proud of her ability to speak Kazakh, as it helps her connect with people easily.

Vika agrees with the saying, "The more languages you know, the more lives you have". With her new role as a teacher, she hopes to inspire others to embark on their own language learning journeys, bridging cultural gaps and fostering understanding among people.

The region of Kostanai, with its rich history of cultural exchange and multilingual education, has provided Vika with the opportunity to become a teacher of Kazakh language and literature. This story serves as a reminder of the transformative power of language learning and the importance of preserving and promoting linguistic diversity.
