In a shift from her familiar roles as a commissioner and villager's helper, Simone Thomalla is diving headfirst into the world of dance, joining the much-anticipated 18th season of "Let's Dance" on RTL. Kicking off on February 21, 2025, every Friday at 8:15 PM, this season will showcase the talents of 14 celebrities, including Thomalla herself.

Born on April 11, 1965, in Leipzig, and currently residing in Berlin, Thomalla has carved out a successful career in German television, earning recognition for her roles in "Tatort" and "Spring." Her most prominent achievement, however, came in 2008 when she starred as commissioner Eva Saalfeld in the Leipzig "Tatort." Since 2011, she's continued her streak of popularity as the village helper Katja Baumann in "Spring."

Motivated by her approaching 60th birthday on April 11, 2025, Thomalla aims to celebrate in style on the dance floor. To make this a reality, the ZDF graciously adjusted their production schedule for "Spring," enabling Simone to accept RTL's invitation to join "Let's Dance."

Thomalla's father, Alfred Thomalla, a renowned set designer and film architect, was instrumental in the success of well-known films like "Our Sandman" and "Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella." In 2015, Simone graced the cover of Playboy alongside her daughter, Sophia, who's the offspring of Simone's previous relationship with theater actor André Vetters.

In the 2025 installment of "Let's Dance," the following personalities will be joining Simone on the dance floor: Jeanette Biedermann, selfiesandra, Marie Mouroum, Leyla Lahouar, Paola Maria, Christine Neubauer, Roland Trettl, Osan Yaran, Diego Pooth, Taliso Engel, Fabian Hambüchen, Marc Eggers, and Ben Zucker.

Despite her age, Thomalla carries an unperturbed demeanor towards the competition, vowing to take it lightly and remain relaxed. With a preference for the Tango, she eagerly anticipates the costumes and the opportunity to express herself through dance.

With Simone's wealth of experience, positive attitude, and passion for the Tango, audiences should brace themselves for an exhilarating ride on the dance floor, as she traverses her journey to "Dancing Star" status on "Let's Dance" 2025.

In her preparation for the dance competition, Simone Thomalla has been studying dance routines on RTL's website, navigating the site using the RTL's Right-To-Left (RTL) language option due to her familiarity with German content. After her performances on "Let's Dance," viewers can tune in every Friday at 8:15 PM to see Simone in action on RTL.
