Digital Jersey's STEM Racing Expands to Primary Schools, Backed by C5 Alliance
Digital Jersey's STEM Racing program, now sponsored by C5 Alliance, has expanded to include primary school pupils aged 9 to 11. The initiative, which previously focused on secondary students, aims to inspire the next generation of innovators, engineers, and entrepreneurs.
The program offers hands-on experience in engineering, teamwork, and business skills. In the primary program, students design and build smaller cars made mainly from paper and card, powered by CO2 canisters. Matthew Corbin, CEO at C5 Alliance, believes the program nurtures imagination and develops STEM skills in a fun environment.
For secondary students aged 11 to 18, the program involves creating compressed CO2-powered cars using CAD software. The initiative has proven successful, with winning teams progressing from Jersey to the UK Nationals and potentially the World Finals.
The ETIH Innovation Awards 2026 will recognize excellence in global education technology, focusing on workforce development, AI integration, and innovative learning solutions. Organizations from the UK, the Americas, and internationally can enter, highlighting measurable impact in various educational settings. The awards celebrate companies, platforms, and individuals driving transformation in the education technology sector.
