Danish companies providing the highest number of English-speaking job opportunities.

In Denmark, multinational corporations generally prioritize English proficiency for job seekers who don't speak Danish, making it easier for non-native Danes to secure employment. Below is a list of some companies that offer the most job openings in the English language.

Jobs in Denmark without Danish

Looking for a job in Denmark without knowing Danish? No worries! The multinational companies often dominate the job market in Denmark, and luckily for you, they usually don't require Danish skills. Here's a roundup of some of the top companies offering jobs in English in Denmark.

Check out jobsinenglish.dk - a jobs website that automatically scouts through job announcements by Danish employers for positions requiring only English. However, you'll notice that some of the biggest employers, such as Novo Nordisk, Maersk, and Lego, aren't currently picked up by the system.

The site shared a list with The Local of the employers which advertised the most jobs requiring only English, discovering that the top five employers - DTU, Grundfos, MAN Energy Solutions, Terma, and Topsoe - accounted for nearly a quarter of all English jobs advertised in 2024. These companies are mainly focused on engineering, electronics, and chemicals, which means the jobs on offer are likely to require a fair amount of skill and qualifications.

DTU (Engineering and Research)

DTU, Danmarks Tekniske Universitet, is a world-leading technical university, and the jobs are likely to be for researchers and lecturers who already have an advanced degree in engineering or a related subject.

Grundfos (Water Solutions)

Grundfos, a global leader in water solutions, manufactures pumps, sensors, filters and other machinery for water treatment. Presumably, they primarily require people with an engineering background.

MAN Energy Solutions (Energy)

The German truck manufacturer MAN runs its low-speed engine division from Copenhagen, producing engines for container vessels, bulk carriers, and oil tankers. You'd need to have an engineering background even for a sales role. They also have a propeller division in Frederikshavn, northeast Jutland.

Terma (Radar and Avionics)

Terma, headquartered in Aarhus, produces advanced radar and avionics solutions which are used in the F-35 fighter jet. Most jobs offered will require advanced engineering knowledge.

Topsoe (Chemistry)

Topsoe, a chemical and catalyst company, is currently focused on enabling the green transition by providing its technologies to green ammonia plants, among other processes. Again, these are likely to be high-skilled jobs.

Some other top-20 employers were in the engineering or chemical sector, including the wind turbine maker Vestas, the renewable energy developer Ørsted, the insulation company Rockwool, the conveyor belt manufacturer Beumer, and the engineering company ABB.

There were only three employers from the retail industry – Salling Group, Bestseller, and JYSK – and it's likely that their English-speaking jobs were on the IT side.
