Application Process
The CLAT 2026 application process commenced on August 1, 2025, and will continue until October 31, 2025. Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate (5-Year LLB)
To be eligible for CLAT 2026, candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 or equivalent, with a minimum of 45% marks for General/OBC/PwD/NRI and 40% for SC/ST.
Postgraduate (LLM)
Candidates must have completed or be in the final year of LLB, with a minimum of 50% marks for General/OBC/PwD/NRI and 45% for SC/ST.
Exam Pattern
CLAT 2026 will be a national level exam conducted in English, and possibly in vernacular/regional languages as well. The exam will be held in pen and paper mode and will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions. Each correct answer will award 1 mark, and each incorrect answer will result in a deduction of 0.25 marks. The exam duration is 2 hours.
The CLAT 2026 UG syllabus includes five subjects: English Language, Current Affairs (including General Knowledge), Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques (Mathematics).
Seat Allocation
The CLAT 2026 UG exam has more than 3,000 seats, and the PG program has around 1,000 seats. Over 130 CLAT Exam Centers will administer the CLAT 2026 Exam.

The application fee for General/ OBC Category is INR 4,000 and INR 3,500 for all other reserved categories.
