Chinese Robotics Firms Ronovo Surgical & CloudMinds Raise $164.5M
Shanghai-based robotics company Ronovo Surgical has secured RMB 200 million (USD 27.4 million) in a pre-Series B+ round. Meanwhile, CloudMinds, another Chinese cloud-based robotics firm, has raised over RMB 1 billion (USD 137.1 million) in a Series C round. In the B2B e-commerce sphere, Vietnam's Telio has raised USD 15 million, while Epigenic Therapeutics, a Shanghai-based biotech company, has garnered USD 32 million in a Series A round.
Ronovo Surgical's funding round was led by Wavemaker Partners, with both new and existing investors chipping in. The company aims to use the funds to expand its robotics technology and services.
CloudMinds' Series C round, which totalled over RMB 1 billion (USD 137.1 million), will support the company's growth and development of cloud-based robotics solutions.
In Vietnam, Telio, a B2B e-commerce startup, raised USD 15 million in a funding round led by Granite Oak. Although the initial target was USD 50-60 million, the company still managed to secure substantial investment. Epigenic Therapeutics, focusing on biotechnology, raised USD 32 million in a Series A round, demonstrating strong investor confidence in the sector.
MFast, a Vietnam-based financial services platform, has raised USD 6 million in a Series A round. The company plans to use the funds to expand its operations and service coverage throughout Vietnam and internationally by 2024. SatSure, an India-based decision intelligence company, has also raised USD 15 million in a Series A round, indicating growing interest in the sector.
These funding rounds reflect the vibrant investment landscape in Asia, with companies in robotics, biotechnology, e-commerce, and financial services attracting significant capital. As these companies expand and grow, they are set to shape the future of their respective industries.
