Park University in the Spotlight: A Month of Achievements and Recognition

May was a month of accolades and achievements for Park University. Here are some of the highlights:

Nisei Exhibit Featured during Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Park University's Nisei exhibit was highlighted on KSHB-TV in Kansas City on May 19, as part of a story celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

Alumna Recognized by Kansas City Royals

Merideth Rose, a Park University alumna, was recognized by the Kansas City Royals on May 2, sitting in the Buck O'Neil Legacy Seat.

Political Science Professor Discusses Missouri's Sports Gambling Decision

Matt Harris, assistant professor of political science, was interviewed for stories related to Missouri not legalizing sports gambling, which aired on KMBZ-FM in Kansas City on May 18.

Upcoming Events at Park University

June is set to be a busy month for Park University, with several events scheduled. These include the Fairchild Air Force Base (Wash.) Campus Commencement on June 8, Juneteenth Holiday on June 19, Beaufort (S.C.) Marine Corps Air Station Campus Commencement on June 23, and a Kansas City Symphony Concert with Pianist Kenny Broberg from June 23-25. An "Agency Catalog for Housing Insecurity" for the Kansas City Northland community, produced by Park University's Department of Criminal Justice Administration and Department of Social Work, was featured in a KCTV story in Kansas City on May 15.

Literacy Education Professor Co-Authors Article

Kathy Howe, an associate professor of literacy education and director of the Watson Literacy Center at Park University, co-authored the article "Opening the Circle to Support Dyslexia Policy Success: Learning From the Voices of Literacy Teacher Educators" that was published in the Literacy Practice and Research journal.

Fulbright Scholar Heads to Moldova

Youngblood's Third Fulbright Scholarship

Youngblood's Focus in Moldova
