Boost in Salaried Clients Among Young Generations Registered by VTB
Rising Trend: VTB Sees 22% Increase in Young Salary Clients
VTB, a leading Russian bank, has observed a significant rise in salary clients among young individuals under the age of 30. According to VTB's press service, the number of Zoomers, representing the generation born in the late 90s, in the bank's salary portfolio has grown by 22% over the past year.
The trend appears to be continuing as more young people under 30 are added to VTB's salary client base. Currently, nearly one-third of the bank's salary portfolio consists of clients under 30. Two specific age groups exhibit notable growth: 22-25 year-olds, whose numbers have increased by a quarter, and the youngest audience (14-16 year-olds), with a 42% surge.
Interestingly, VTB's young salary clients include students receiving stipends on VTB cards. The turnover on these cards averages 2.5 times higher than regular education institution payments. The top five regions boasting the most significant number of students receiving stipends on VTB cards are Krasnodar Krai, Bashkortostan, Stavropol Krai, Samara Oblast, and Sverdlovsk Oblast.
While there is a growing trend of Russian banks tailoring services to younger demographics, specific figures for VTB's young salary clients, student stipend regions, and the overall share in the salary portfolio remain proprietary and are not generally published by banks.
- The surge in young salary clients at VTB, primarily Zoomers, indicates a growing interest in finance from the younger generation, potentially reshaping the dominant business landscape.
- As a result of this shift, the integration of lifestyle, education-and-self-development services tailored to a younger audience has become a feasible and lucrative venture for VTB, capitalizing on the influx of an emerging demographic in their business sector.
