During her visit to Ramon Maningo Memorial Hospital in San Francisco, Camotes Island on August 8, 2025, Governor Pamela Baricuatro addressed the pressing healthcare needs of the island's residents.

The hospital was observed to have insufficient lighting, medicine, and equipment. To address these issues, the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) provided recommendations and immediate solutions for necessary repairs. Governor Baricuatro ordered immediate repairs and the swift completion of stalled construction projects at the hospital.

Governor Baricuatro emphasized the importance of these repairs due to the island’s remote location and the pressing healthcare needs of its residents. She explained that such interventions were essential to provide appropriate medical attention and other government services to far-flung areas like Camotes Island.

In addition to the hospital, Governor Baricuatro also inspected Esperanza Elementary School in the town of Poro. The school clinic needs inspection to ensure children have access to initial medical treatment. The classrooms at Esperanza Elementary School are in poor condition, with classroom walls not enclosed, causing noise issues during the summer.

During her visit to the school, Governor Baricuatro appealed to students to avoid smoking, drinking, and using illegal drugs. She also became emotional during her visit with the beneficiaries after seeing their condition.

Governor Baricuatro chose Camotes Island for the first Caravan of Services to bring additional medical attention and other services to the constituents. She described the Caravan of Services as successful, serving hundreds of residents, and thanked all the agencies that assisted.
