AIIMS Announces NORCET 9 Recruitment Drive for 3500 Nursing Officer Posts

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has announced a recruitment drive for Nursing Officer posts through the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET 9). A total of 3500 vacancies are up for grabs.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Nationality: Candidates must be Indian nationals.
  2. Age Criteria:
  3. The minimum age is 18 years.
  4. The maximum age is 30 years for general candidates.
  5. Age relaxations apply as follows:
    • SC/ST candidates: 5 years (up to 35 years)
    • OBC candidates: 3 years (up to 33 years)
    • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years (up to 40 years)
    • PwBD + OBC: 13 years (up to 43 years)
    • PwBD + SC/ST: 15 years (up to 45 years)
    • Ex-servicemen and Commissioned officers (ECO/SSCOs): 5 years (up to 35 years)
  6. Educational Qualifications:
  7. Candidates must have a B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing, or Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree from a recognized university or institution approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).
  8. Alternatively, candidates with a Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from an INC/state nursing council-recognized institute can apply, provided they also have:
    • Registration as Nurses and Midwives with the Indian Nursing Council or the respective State Nursing Council.
    • Minimum two years of experience in a 50-bedded hospital after obtaining the diploma.
  9. Registration: Registration with the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and/or the respective State Nursing Council is mandatory.

Application Process

Interested applicants can apply online for these posts from July 22 to August 11, 2025, at the official website. All provisionally qualified candidates will have to submit original certificates and photocopies related to their eligibility and identity during the document verification.

Important Notes

  • Candidates must have at least two years of experience in a minimum 50 bedded Hospital after acquiring the educational qualification.
  • Failing to submit any of the required documents will lead to the cancellation of the candidate's candidature.
  • All qualifications must be from recognized institutions and candidates must be registered with the INC and State Nursing Council as applicable.
  • Experience requirements apply only to diploma (GNM) holders, not for graduates.
  • Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as of the last date of the online application submission.
  • The list of documents required to prove AIIMS NORCET Eligibility includes the downloaded Registration Slip of the online application form, Admit Card, Date of Birth certificate, caste certificate/Income & Asset Certificate if applied under SC/ST/OBC/EWS category, Disability Certificate if applied under PWBD category, certificate from the competent authority in case of age relaxation, 'No Objection Certificate' if in regular employment, education qualification certificates, INC/State Nursing Council registration, Experience certificate, and any other certificate.
