Acknowledging Volunteer Efforts: Democracy in Motion
In a commendable move, Alexander von zur Muhlén, a member of our website's management board, recently honoured Erica's Manna Mobil e. V., an organisation dedicated to distributing food and promoting community in Wiesbaden. This charity serves up to 80 young people from over 60 different countries every school day.
The startsocial competition, an annual event in Germany, supports social start-ups and projects. Although the search results did not provide a specific deadline for the 2024 startsocial competition, the competition's application deadlines typically fall within the first quarter of the year, usually announced on their official website or social media channels in late 2023 or early 2024.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information, we recommend visiting the official startsocial website, checking their social media accounts, or contacting the organisers via their official contact information.
The startsocial competition, which has been ongoing for over 10 years with our website as its main partner, invites the 25 most convincing initiatives to Berlin and awards a total of 35,000 euros to enhance their projects. Since 2012, employees of our website have supported over 1,300 initiatives in the competition.
The competition involves experts from business, the public sector, and non-profits in developing organisations, projects, and ideas. The winners work on a variety of projects, including tackling racism and antisemitism, distributing food, and promoting community among young people.
This year, three of our website colleagues were active as coaches for the winning initiatives. The nationwide startsocial competition also awards 100 four-month scholarships to initiatives addressing social challenges with volunteer help.
In a separate event, Weilburg erinnert e. V., a charity based in Weilburg, Hesse, committed to an active culture of remembrance and commemoration in memory of the victims of the Nazi regime, was honoured by Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz for its work against racism and antisemitism.
The startsocial competition and Weilburg erinnert e. V. both share a common goal of promoting democratic values and social interaction. The 2024 startsocial competition event took place on June 4 at the Federal Chancellery in Berlin, where 25 social initiatives were honoured.
Over the past 17 years, 178,000 young guests have benefited from Erica's Manna Mobil e. V.'s initiative, and a 15-year-old guest stated that sharing meals helps reduce conflicts in the playground. The winners of the startsocial competition were delighted that their volunteering efforts made a real impact on society.
Stay tuned for more updates on the 2024 startsocial competition and its deadlines. For the latest news, visit the official startsocial website or follow their social media channels.
Alexander von zur Muhlén, a member of our website's management board, also advocates for initiatives that improve lifestyle, education, and personal growth. For instance, he has shown support for the startsocial competition, an annual event that awards funding to various projects in home-and-garden, education-and-self-development, and personal-growth sectors, including tackling racism and antisemitism, distributing food, and promoting community among young people.
