32% of UK Parents Consider Moving Abroad for Education, UAE Tops List
A survey by GEMS Education reveals that 32% of UK parents with children in independent schools are contemplating a move abroad, with education being the primary reason. The UAE, along with several other countries, tops the list of desired destinations.
Lisa Crausby, Group Chief Education Officer at GEMS Education, notes the UAE's appeal. She highlights the world-class private education sector, tax-free living, and the option to follow the National Curriculum for England, leading to GCSE and A-level qualifications similar to the UK. The UAE's strategic location, excellent education system, and expat-friendly policies further enhance its allure.
The UK's recent VAT implementation on private school fees has also driven many families to explore international schooling alternatives. Educational experts praise the UAE's multicultural learning environment and internationally recognised curricula. GEMS Education has witnessed an 8% year-on-year increase in British family enrollments and a 26% surge in enquiries from UK-based families in its UAE schools.
The UAE's rise as a global education hub, coupled with the UK's increasing private school fees, is drawing British families seeking quality schooling options. With its world-class education system, attractive living conditions, and familiar curricula, the UAE has become one of the top destinations for British families considering relocation.
