28th German Studies Conference in Braunschweig to Explore Dialogue

The 28th German Studies Conference is set to take place in Braunschweig from September 14 to 17, 2025. The event, themed 'Dialog', will explore the significance of dialogue in German studies and teacher training. Around 600 participants are expected to attend the conference at the Technical University of Braunschweig's campus north.

The conference will feature an opening lecture by Professor Sybille Kraemer on 'Do we have a dialogue with chatbots?'. Five keynotes and over 100 lectures and workshops will delve into the topic of 'Dialog' from diverse angles. A publisher's exhibition and a political talk on the future viability of German studies are also planned. The event aims to strengthen competencies such as openness to other perspectives, critical reflection, and linguistic sensitivity.

Registration for the conference is still open until August 31, 2025. Interested participants can sign up via the conference website: www.germanistentag2025.de. The conference is being prepared by Professor Jan Standke, spokesperson of the German Germanists' Association, and his organization team.
